How we got started

Wettlaufer’s Garden Center & Flower Shop in Atkinson, NE is owned by Kenny and Laurel Wettlaufer. Kenny and Laurel have four busy kids. When they’re not busy at work or chasing their kids around, they enjoy being home and spending time together.

The Wettlaufer family began their business journey with a hope and a prayer in 2012. What started as Wettlaufer Landscapes out of their home garage, soon grew to the Garden Center along the highway in 2015, with the expansion of owning the Flower Shop in 2017.

Kenny Wettlaufer has a bachelor’s degree in horticulture and landscape design along with over 20 years of experience in the industry.

Laurel Wettlaufer has a bachelor’s degree in music performance, but has learned a lot about horticulture and floral design over the years and enjoys working alongside her husband in this endeavor.

We couldn’t do this without our amazing staff of employees who come alongside us with their skills, talents, and years of experience to make Wettlaufer’s Garden Center & Flower Shop what it is today.
